KRE8SHUNS Mobile Dee Jay Service
Tim Raley, owner and entertainer/emcee of KRE8SHUNS, has lived in Rome for 33 years. He answers the questions:
How long have you owned this business?
10 years, since 1993.
How long have you been in business ? this or other?
I began my DJ career in 1988 at K98 in Rome as the host of a contemporary Christian music program called "Straight Ahead." In 1991 I went to work for a local dance club (Shenanigans) where I learned more about playing music for a live audience and how to interact with a crowd. I also served as the lighting programmer/technician.
Why did you start KRE8SHUNS?
I had a friend who was in need of a DJ at his wedding reception, so I offered to play. After that event, I started purchasing equipment and offering my services to the public. I have always loved playing music for people and knew the Rome area was in need of a service of this kind.
Is this a family business? If yes, who else is involved?
My wife Shelley is involved behind the scenes. She helps with bookkeeping, tax preparation and speaking with clients about upcoming events.
What is the primary product or service of your business?
Entertainment for wedding receptions, class reunions, corporate events, school dances, proms, formals, private parties, themed events and any event in which a client is in need of music. KRE8SHUNS also sells party supplies online.
What does your business specialize in?
Wedding receptions and corporate events.
How many employees do you have?
I have a network of consultants and apprentices with me for value-added service and constant business improvement.
What is the price range of your services?
$300 - $2000 depending on the type of event and services needed.
Is there something new or unusual about the business you'd like the public to know about?
KRE8SHUNS uses a software program called PCDJ to play all of the music. PCDJ allows me the freedom to spend more time entertaining the guests, take requests and have them played instantly. All the music is converted from CD to MP3, therefore the music will never skip when people are dancing.
KRE8SHUNS has the area's largest mobile light show and is the only company in the area that offers music videos as an additional service. Is there something interesting about you or the business you'd like to share? I have been interviewed on several occasions by "DJ Times" magazine.
I am the Georgia Regional Coordinator for the United States Online Disc Jockey Association. I am also a member of the Visiosonic/PCDJ software test and development team.
Services are booked on a first-come first-served basis. Most events are currently booking six months in advance so plan early to have KRE8SHUNS at your next event.
